Children's Day

Children's Day is a holiday we are not familiar with at home.  We do have Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Grandparent's Day; why not throw in a Children's Day! Children's day is a whole day to devote to the children.  Well I guess this is every day in any parents life, but here they make a holiday of it.  At school we celebrated by making crowns, face painting, playing games, getting presents, singing, dancing and crafting.  An exhausting day to say the least.  In the morning the children watched a movie as I went around and painted the children's faces.  As many know I'm not an artist by any means so I tried to encourage the easy flowers, butterflies and rainbows.  We then got to go see a bubble show.  There was a professional bubble blower, yes this can be a profession!  I don't even know where to begin to explain the bubble show.  He blew bubbles of all shapes and sizes.  He blew bubbles on top of bubbles, bubbles hanging from bubbles, bubbles inside of bubbles, children inside of bubbles and any kind of bubble imaginable.  He even set some bubbles on fire.  We then went back to the class and built cookie houses.  The children really enjoyed this but needless to say I practically made 12 cookie houses!  We then had lunch followed by a dance party! It was an exhausting day but so great to see all those kids so happy!
